Leaping Further to That Single Media Conglomerate

I know it still has to go through regulatory processes and all sorts of other things, but we can probably be safe to say that Netflix buying up Warner Brothers further signifies the growing behemoth of media conglomerates.
Netflix has announced that it’s struck a deal to acquire Warner Bros. for $82.7 billion. The purchase will go through after Warner Bros.’ planned split from Discovery, now expected to take place in Q3 2026. It will see the streamer acquire the Warner studio, both HBO and HBO Max, and access to IP including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and DC Comics.

We're in for a fun ride in which there is going to be only three media companies (Disney, Netflix/WB, and Parasky) that will be producing content in the very near future. We've already seen what a risk-adverse studio produces when we have nothing but remakes, reboots, or sequels out the wazoo are being made. It's only the smaller studios like A24 or other smaller indie studios that are taking a risk with making original movies or shows.
I already can't wait to have even less choice of watching a classic movie or show, while these companies play the shell game of fake scarcity with them.
